About #embolden2020
We are proud to announce Embolden2020. In this our third year, we have refined the Program in response to your feedback and we are presenting two key events: the Fashion Parade and revamped Market of Great Ideas.

Festival events will be held at two wonderful new locations:
- Fashion Parade: Sunday 13th September, 2-4pm (time to be confirmed), Collingwood Town Hall
- Market of Great Ideas: Monday 14th September, 10-4pm, The Drill Hall Melbourne CBD
Theme - Intergenerational power
The theme for #Embolden2020 is Intergenerational Power. It's about intergeneration collaborations, connections and understandings. The research around social interaction theory shows that intergenerational connections bust stigma and build respect. There is now a need to explore innovative approaches intergenerational connection so that we can better understand: what works and how it can be replicated.
#Embolden2020 will focus on innovative approaches to working together across many generations: young and old, middle and mature age, to challenge ageism and build respect. The questions we are looking to answer are:
Our program for 2020 is shorter and more action packed. It will begin with the Fashion Parade on Sunday and finish up with the Market of Great Ideas on Monday. We have experienced Fashion Parade coordinators this year and have a partner that has donated equipment (more about this soon). The Market of Great Ideas has been revamped to add more workshops and structured networking activities.

- Collaboration: how can people connect across generations to share wisdom and skills that help to make the world a better place?
- Connection: how can intergenerational power be utilised to connect socially isolated individuals and groups and promote wellbeing?
- Communities: what can we learn from a broad range of communities (ATSI, CALD, LGBTI, Rural etc) to create a Blueprint that promotes Intergenerational Power?

harvest
This year we have added a Harvest program. This involves taking Embolden to rural communities to host a 'mini Embolden'. Please see the Harvest page here for more details.
