Spunk is an attitude - it is about courage, determination, pluck, spirit, strength, fortitude, guts and grit. In Australia, 'a spunk' is also a person who is sexually attractive. A Fashion Parade called SPUNK celebrates these characteristics of older people.
spunk - A Fashion parade
#Embolden2020 is proud to present a fashion parade called SPUNK. This Catwalks Against Ageism event challenges perceptions of beauty as the prerogative of youth and welcome models 65+ of all shapes, sizes, genders, sexualities and ethnicities. The aim of SPUNK is to challenge ageism. We think beauty is an attitude. We ask our models to choose their catwalk attitude and then tell us how it can be taken to everyday life as a protective factor against ageism. It’s about not waiting for the world to be less ageist - it’s about living our lives to the full right now. SPUNK shows the courage, determination, puck, spirit and sense of play that older people have.
